Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, the second largest tax preparation service company in the United States, is seeking a Paid Intern for our independently owned office in San Francisco. We will provide the selected candidate with training. The goal to for this position to grow into a Tax Preparer / Assistant Office Manager. An element of the training will be the required course to become a registered tax preparer.

The selected candidate will be participating a J1 visa program, for example, one offered by CDS or EDI.

We have a mandarin-speaking team member. He will be willing to help you ease off the effect of "culture shock."

Key Duties:

• Assemble tax returns.
• Conduct efficient and accurate tax interviews, all the while creating a positive memorable experience for the customer.
• Prepare individual tax returns.
  
  
• Control tax inventory by regularly updating our Production Management software to ensure timely preparation of all tax returns.
• Assist in ensuring e-filing issues are resolved in timely manner.

• Interact with clients in person, on the phone, and via written communication.
• Provide support to professional staff. This includes maintaining file system and storage, organizing forms and supplies, etc.

Required Qualifications:

• Fluency in English and clear pronunciation
• Good computer skills and experience in Microsoft Windows and Office programs.
• Good organization skills.
• Bachelor degree

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
• Ability to work under pressure and comply with deadlines
• Strong typing skills 10-key by touch.
