Do I need to file?
You do not need to file a separate state form. As long as you file a federal extension (Form 4868), Mississippi honors it automatically. Just be sure to check the "Extension" box when you eventually file your Mississippi Form 80-105 - You must pay your estimated tax liability by April 15 to avoid interest and late-payment penalties.
Filing methods
Online filing
You can skip paperwork entirely by paying your estimated balance online through the Mississippi TAP. Making an "Extension Payment" through TAP electronically logs your extension.
Mail filing
By Mail: If you want to mail a check, you must print and fill out the Mississippi individual income tax forms. Select the "Extension Payment" box on the voucher and mail it with your check by April 15.
