Do I need to file?
Taxpayers who have been approved for a federal extension by the IRS do not need to file a separate form. When you file your Pennsylvania return by October 15, attach a copy of your federal extension to the return. Keep a copy of your Form 4868 available when preparing your Pennsylvania return. If you expect to owe a balance to Pennsylvania, or if you did not request a federal extension, you must explicitly request a state extension. You must submit your request and payment using Form REV-276 on or before April 15.
