Do I need to file?
If you filed a federal extension (IRS Form 4868) and expect a Vermont refund, you do not need to file a separate Vermont extension form. It is granted automatically. If you OWE taxes: You must file a Vermont extension and pay the estimated tax due by the April deadline to avoid late-payment penalties.
