Do I need to file?
In most cases, Oregon taxpayers do not need to submit a separate state extension request. If you have been granted a federal extension by filing IRS Form 4868, Oregon will automatically honor that extension and extend your state filing deadline to October 15. While no additional paperwork is required to obtain the filing extension, any Oregon income tax owed should still be paid by the original tax deadline to minimize potential penalties and interest charges.
